About Selma, Texas

Selma is a suburb of San Antonio with a population of around ten thousand. It’s situated within Bexar County and is one of the best places to live in Texas by many accounts.

Selma was settled in 1847 by people traveling from all over the world – mainly from various European countries, though. German and Polish immigrants constituted most of the initial wave of people that settled in the area. By 1885, the population was around 150, so it was dealing with the coziest of stations. At the turn of the century, however, that rose to around 600. As time swiftly moved on, the population actually plummeted and, by 1940, it was down to 100. Since 1964, however, the city has incorporated and has seen immense growth – especially since the turn of the millennium.

Selma boasts the Retama Racing Park, which opened in 1995, and The Forum, a 110-stop outdoor mall – this opened in the year 2000. Today, Selma is a hot suburb of San Antonio with German Heritage in its name and in the descendants. Selma has an array of different services and amenities that make the entire area a wonderful place to live. From necessities to luxuries, you’ll have everything you need to enjoy life and to keep everything ticking over smoothly.

If you’re from Selma, the surrounding area, or you’re looking to move here at some point, then perhaps Thousand Oaks Dental may be able to provide you with what you need in terms of your oral health. Don’t be afraid to get in touch and speak with the friendly staff available.
